Amazon Announces Next Gen of Fire HD 8 Tablets, Now With More Ram

Amazon has announced an upgrade to its Fire HD 8 tablet lineup, which starts shipping today. The new Fire HD 8 tablets now feature 50% more RAM, enhancing their performance for streaming, gaming, browsing, and downloading. The tablets come with an 8-inch HD display and a portable, lightweight design. The introductory pricing for these tablets offers savings of up to 50% through October 9.

Key features of the new Fire HD 8 include an improved 5MP rear-facing camera, expandable storage options of 32GB or 64GB with the ability to add up to 1TB via a microSD card, and up to 13 hours of battery life. The lineup also includes kid-friendly versions, such as the Fire HD 8 Kids and Fire HD 8 Kids Pro, which come with increased RAM and a two-year worry-free guarantee. These versions are designed for children ages 3 to 12 and include a subscription to Amazon Kids+.

The Fire HD 8 tablets are available in Black, Hibiscus, or Emerald, while the Fire HD 8 Kids and Fire HD 8 Kids Pro come with sturdy, kid-proof cases in various designs, including Disney-themed options.

Amazon is also introducing new generative AI-powered features to compatible Fire tablets. Writing Assist helps refine messages and emails across any app on the device. Webpage Summaries on the Silk browser offer quick insights on web articles by distilling key points. Wallpaper Creator allows users to customize their tablet’s home screen with unique, high-resolution images.
