Parks Associates, a market research firm, has published new data indicating that over 60% of US internet households consider their electricity costs too high, a sentiment consistent with the previous year’s findings. This reflects ongoing consumer concerns about household expenses and high prices.
The firm has also announced the speakers for its 15th annual Smart Energy Summit: Engaging the Consumer. The summit aims to present Parks Associates’ latest consumer research, which focuses on the primary factors that motivate consumers to adopt energy management solutions. It will offer insights and analysis on strategies to deliver new and profitable smart energy solutions to consumers.
According to Mindi Sue Sternblitz-Rubenstein, VP of Marketing at Parks Associates, there has been an upward trend in the adoption of smart thermostats after a period of stagnation. Additionally, there is growing consumer interest in energy-saving technologies that offer both financial and environmental benefits.
Other ways that you can use smart tech to help reduce energy costs include:
- using smart blinds to help control your home’s temperature
- setting your devices like lamps and water heaters on a timer
- tracking your energy use with power consumption monitoring on smart devices
