Ring has launched the “Ring Pet Portraits” campaign, which encourages pet owners to post videos and images of their pets with the hashtag #RingPets on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. The initiative aims to support animal shelters by pledging a donation to the ASPCA and various local shelters across the United States. From the start of the campaign until June 14, Ring has committed to donating $10 for each submission, with a maximum contribution of $100,000 to the ASPCA and up to an additional $400,000 to local shelters.
The campaign is designed to aid the estimated 6.3 million companion animals that enter U.S. animal shelters each year. Matt Bershadker, President and CEO of the ASPCA, expressed gratitude to Ring and Drew Barrymore for drawing attention to adoptable pets and the joy they bring to homes.
Actress Drew Barrymore, a pet owner of seven animals, has joined the campaign to raise awareness for shelter pets. She stars in a promotional short film featuring her rescue dog, Douglas, who humorously finds out he is ineligible to participate in the Ring Pet Portraits because he is a “nepo puppy.” Barrymore’s bearded dragon, Jeremy, also appears in the film, showcasing the emotional investment in the campaign.
Barrymore has shared her love for her pets and her support for Ring’s mission to celebrate the relationship between pets and their owners and to encourage donations to the ASPCA and local animal shelters.
In addition to the fundraising aspect, pet owners can enter a contest for a chance to have their pet featured in a Ring commercial by tagging their submissions with both #contest and #RingPets. Drew Barrymore and the ASPCA will select the winning pet. The contest is subject to official rules, which specify the eligibility requirements.
Ring’s product offerings, including the new Pan Tilt Indoor Cam, which provides a 360-degree view of a room, are tailored to pet parents who want to stay connected with their pets while they are away.
