iRobot Corp. has announced the release of the Roomba Combo 2 Essential and the Roomba Vac 2 Essential robots in North America. These models are part of the company’s new Essential series and include features such as an AutoEmpty dock that allows the robots to automatically empty their dust bins after cleaning. The robots offer twice the cleaning power of the original Essential series, an improved bumper design for better navigation, and the capability to recharge and resume during cleaning operations.

The Roomba Combo 2 Essential features a 4-Stage Cleaning System, which includes enhanced suction, a Multi-Surface Bristle Brush, an Edge-Sweeping Brush, and a reusable microfiber mop pad. It is equipped with sensors for precise navigation and can clean for up to 120 minutes on a single charge. The AutoEmpty dock enables the robot to empty its bin into a sealed bag that can hold up to 60 days’ worth of debris. The device also includes customizable cleaning routines powered by iRobot OS intelligence.

The Roomba Vac 2 Essential is a vacuum-only model available for $399.99 at select retailers in North America. This model shares many features with the Roomba Combo 2 Essential, including the AutoEmpty dock and vacuuming capabilities.
