Konnected will present the GDO blaQ smart garage door opener accessory at CEDIA 2024 in Denver, CO. This product is compatible with Chamberlain, LiftMaster, and Merlin brand Security+ and Security+2.0 garage openers. An interactive demonstration will highlight the new Control4 integration developed with Chowmain Software, alongside integrations with SmartThings, Home Assistant, and Alexa. These integrations allow for control and automation of the garage door with third-party smart home applications.
Nate Clark, CEO and Founder of Konnected, stated that the GDO blaQ was developed due to myQ’s lack of support for diverse integrations, offering an open-source, standards-compliant alternative. In 2023, Chamberlain Group restricted access to most independently developed software integrations using its cloud service, prompting a need for alternative solutions.
Alan Chow, Managing Director of Chowmain Software, emphasized the convenience and compliance of the GDO blaQ, noting that it requires no additional reed switches or cables. The device adheres to UL325 standards with built-in audio and visual pre-close warnings. It integrates seamlessly with Chamberlain and LiftMaster garage door openers, making it a preferred choice for professional integrators.
The GDO blaQ communicates directly with most residential garage openers by connecting two wires to the garage opener motor or wall button, emulating a digital wall button. This allows it to control and monitor the garage door and its components without additional sensors. It includes features such as controlling the garage light, remote lock-out, and monitoring sensors. The device meets the safety standards specified by U.S. 16 CFR Part 1211 and UL 325 for unattended garage control accessories.
Konnected will feature the GDO blaQ and other Smart Home solutions at CEDIA 2024. For more information, check out Konnected’s website here.
