Leviton has just introduced their latest innovation, the Smart GFCI (Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupter) Outlet, which offers users both safety and convenience. This new outlet is designed to send notifications directly to your smartphone via the My Leviton app if the GFCI trips due to a ground-fault. With this feature, you can have peace of mind knowing that you will be alerted immediately in the event of a trip.
Not only does the app provide notifications, but it also gives you at-a-glance information on the protection status of the outlet. You can easily see if a ground-fault has occurred or if the GFCI is in test mode. This is especially useful for homes with multiple Smart GFCI Outlets installed, as the app can identify exactly which outlet has tripped.

The Smart GFCI Outlet is an upgrade to Leviton’s GFCI Outlet with Audible Trip Alert and includes an optional audible alarm that can be enabled or silenced. It is also compatible with Leviton’s Decora Smart product line, allowing you to build a whole home smart solution that fits your connected lifestyle.
In terms of safety features, the Smart GFCI Outlet includes Leviton’s patented Reset Lockout feature, which prevents reset if the GFCI is not wired or operating correctly. Tamper-resistant shutters are also included to enhance child protection by preventing the insertion of unintended foreign objects.
This Smart GFCI outlet is NEC code compliant and Wi-Fi certified, making it a reliable and practical solution for appliances in out-of-the-way locations such as garages or basements. It is also great for second homes and remote locations where daily visual checks may not be feasible.
