LG Electronics is set to expand its Gaming Portal to a broader range of screens and platforms in 2025. Initially available on LG Smart TVs with webOS 23 and above in 19 markets, the service will soon be accessible in additional markets and extend to more platforms and devices, including LG Smart Monitors and StanbyME lifestyle screens, by the second quarter of the year. This expansion aims to improve the game streaming experience, offering easy access to a variety of popular and new titles.
The Gaming Portal acts as a central location for gameplay options, making it easier for users to find new titles and enjoy familiar ones. Through collaborations with major cloud gaming services such as NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, Boosteroid, Blacknut, and soon Xbox Cloud, as well as many native webOS app games, LG offers a wide selection of games spanning different genres. The Gaming Portal is designed for straightforward access via the Home Screen, featuring a simple interface that allows users to browse and play games without the need for additional consoles or devices.
Users can explore a curated list of apps that includes cloud gaming apps, webOS app games that can be played with the remote control, recently played titles, top trending games, editor’s picks, and other personalized gaming options. Players have the option to select “Play with Remote Control” or “Play with Game Pad” from a menu, which simplifies the process of finding a preferred gaming experience without having to search through individual games.
For a tailored gaming experience, My Page serves as a central location for tracking achievements and earning badges. Gamers can view a detailed summary of their progress, points, levels, and tier upgrades based on their activity within the Gaming Portal, enhancing their overall gaming journey. The My Games menu within My Page also allows users to create a personalized game list based on their interests, ensuring they stay updated on anticipated titles.
To further enhance the gaming experience for PC or console games, LG TVs support 4K at 120Hz variable refresh rate (VRR) for smooth and tear-free gameplay. They are certified with NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium. The latest LG OLED evo TVs offer the industry’s first 4K 165Hz VRR and are the first to receive ClearMR 10000 certification by VESA, providing flawless motion during fast-paced action.
LG continues to focus on delivering an improved gaming experience on its screens powered by webOS. This includes a variety of content and services and an intuitive interface for versatile gameplay.
