Midea Group, a notable member of the Connectivity Standards Alliance, has been actively involved in promoting the Matter standard within the home appliance sector since joining the Alliance in 2022. The Matter standard is designed to enhance interoperability among smart home devices, regardless of brand, facilitating a more unified smart home experience. Midea Group has significantly contributed to this initiative by investing in research and development for more than seven major home appliance categories, including air conditioners, which are now equipped with Matter technology.

These Matter-enabled air conditioners have been well-received, as evidenced by the shipment of over 2 million units globally. Midea plans to further expand its range of Matter-compatible products by 2025, with the introduction of fans, dishwashers, robotic vacuum cleaners, washing machines, and dryers. As a prominent participant in the Matter Full House Demo Task Team, Midea has played a pivotal role in the development of a smart home environment that highlights the seamless connection of devices across different brands.

The Matter Full House Demo allows consumers to experience the ease of managing various smart home devices that communicate effortlessly within the Matter ecosystem. Midea’s involvement in this project is geared towards creating an interconnected environment where household appliances can be controlled via smartphones or voice assistants, thereby enhancing user convenience. This initiative is part of Midea’s broader vision of advancing smart home technology to improve quality of life through technological progress.

In addition to developing Matter-supported products, Midea is working in collaboration with major ecosystem partners such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home. This partnership aims to establish an open and inclusive smart home ecosystem that integrates devices from multiple brands. Midea’s commitment to this effort is reflective of its broader strategy to lead in the smart home market by introducing more advanced and intelligent appliances.

As the smart home sector develops, Midea Group remains dedicated to advancing the Matter standard and expanding its product offerings. The company is also focused on engaging with consumers to gather feedback and adapt to their needs, ensuring that its services are both personalized and effective. Midea continues to work with partners and consumers to shape the future of smart homes.
