Kohler and Samsung SmartThings have announced a collaboration aimed at enhancing shower water management, reflecting both companies’ focus on sustainable home solutions. The partnership involves integrating Kohler’s Anthem smart showers with the SmartThings ecosystem, a move that facilitates improved water management and sustainability in home automation. This integration allows users to control their showers through SmartThings and connect with other compatible devices.
From early 2025, users will be able to monitor their shower water usage via a new water layer on SmartThings Map View. This feature will be available on the SmartThings app across Samsung Smart TVs, Family Hub, and mobile devices, enabling real-time tracking of shower water consumption. The collaboration aims to increase awareness of water use, encouraging more eco-friendly habits by providing insights into consumption patterns and personalized recommendations.
Samsung emphasizes the importance of this partnership in promoting sustainability. Jaeyeon Jung, EVP of SmartThings at Samsung Electronics, highlighted the role of this collaboration in supporting eco-conscious solutions. Kohler’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Laura Kohler, also expressed the company’s commitment to sustainability through innovation. The integration of Kohler’s products with SmartThings is designed to empower customers to manage water consumption more effectively, contributing to sustainable living practices.
