United Chargers Inc., a manufacturer of electric vehicle chargers, has announced a new capability for its Grizzl-E line of EV charging stations. The company is introducing a multi-app functionality for its Wi-Fi-connected chargers, including the Grizzl-E Ultimate 48A, Grizzl-E Ultimate 80A, and Grizzl-E Mini Connect models. This development allows users to choose between two smart charging applications: Grizzl-E Connect and the newly available Epic Charging home application.

The introduction of this multi-app capability is part of United Chargers’ strategy to provide more options and flexibility to its residential customers. The chargers utilize the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP), which is known for its interoperability with various smart charging software. United Chargers plans to continue expanding its software compatibility in the coming years, with more integrations expected by 2025.

Being able to use one device with multiple charging apps makes it much easier to manage EV charging. Instead of needing to schedule the best times to charge and track charging across multiple apps, with this new hardware you can consolidate down to one app for all of your charging needs.

Gleb Nikiforov, CEO of United Chargers, emphasized that the new feature offers users the freedom to select the software that best meets their needs, while ensuring full hardware compatibility. This collaboration with Epic Charging marks the first time a third-party application is natively available for use with United Chargers’ products. The company anticipates that additional software partners will be introduced in the future.

Epic Charging, the first software provider to be integrated with United Chargers’ products, is offering its Epic Home app to residential customers at no cost. This application is designed to support both individual charging needs and larger-scale projects, such as take-home fleet applications and electric utility demand response programs. Michael Bakunin, CEO of Epic Charging, highlighted the collaboration as a step toward providing a reliable and future-ready charging experience.
