Idlespace Technology, the distributor for Philips Home Access Smart Door Locks in North America, has announced that it will introduce the Philips Wi-Fi Palm Recognition Smart Deadbolt at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2024. This new addition to the Philips Home Access Smart Lock line, which has been available since Spring of 2023, features palm recognition technology for secure and convenient home access.

The key feature of the smart lock is its palm vein reader, which identifies the unique palm vein pattern of an individual. This allows users to unlock their doors quickly and without effort. The uniqueness of palm vein patterns greatly enhances security, making it extremely difficult to replicate.

The smart deadbolt also comes with grab-and-go technology, which includes proximity sensors. These sensors detect when someone reaches for the indoor knob or lever and then automatically unlocks the deadbolt, facilitating a quick and smooth exit.

The new Philips smart lock is built to work with existing smart home systems. It can be controlled using voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The lock’s status can also be monitored and controlled using the Philips Home Access app.

The Philips Wi-Fi Palm Recognition Smart Deadbolt includes built-in Wi-Fi, which means that it does not require separate Wi-Fi bridges. This simplifies the process of pairing the lock with the Philips Home Access app.

Jeroen Koster, Head of Appliances Program at Philips, stated that the launch of the palm recognition smart deadbolt aligns with Philips’ commitment to providing innovative solutions for enhanced home security and convenience, in keeping with Philips’ brand promise to improve life.
