Realbotix Corp., a company specializing in humanoid robots and AI-based companionship, has introduced the Realbotix Robotic AI Vision System. This new development aims to improve the realism and adaptability of humanoid robots. The system is designed to enhance user interaction by providing real-time awareness, allowing robots to better recognize, understand, and respond to their environment. Key features of the system include user face recognition, object recognition, face tracking, and real-time scene detection.
The Realbotix Robotic AI Vision System is equipped with human recognition capabilities that allow robots to detect human presence and adjust their facial expressions accordingly. This feature is intended to create emotionally engaging and natural responses, which can help reduce the “uncanny valley” effect. Additionally, the system supports facial recognition, enabling robots to personalize interactions with users. This capability is beneficial in areas such as social companionship, healthcare, and customer service.
The system also includes real-time object identification and scene analysis, which allows robots to assist in various environments, including smart homes and retail security. The integration of cloud-based multimodal AI enables the system to continuously update its understanding of scenes and generate context-aware responses. Additionally, the system incorporates conversational AI, allowing robots to engage in more nuanced and contextually aware conversations.
The Realbotix Robotic AI Vision System can be applied across multiple industries. In healthcare, it can enhance care environments by recognizing patients and monitoring movements. In retail and security, it can assist in store management and safety by identifying potential shoplifters and optimizing customer engagement. In smart homes, it can simplify daily tasks with personalized responses for household members. The system also enhances user experiences in entertainment and social robotics through adaptive facial expressions and real-time interaction with environmental changes.
The system includes Realbotix’s patented realistic eyeball technology, which contributes to the visual realism of the robots. This modular design allows for different eye colors to be installed, enhancing the lifelike appearance of Realbotix robots. The beta version of the system was showcased at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January 2025, where it demonstrated the potential for advanced robotics to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and human interaction.
Andrew Kiguel, CEO of Realbotix, noted that the Realbotix AI Vision System represents a significant advancement in AI robotics, enhancing the use cases for their robots.
The system is available for purchase with Realbotix robots, with deliveries planned for fall. Current owners will also have the option to retrofit existing models. For more information, visit Realbotix’s website here.
