Rently, a company specializing in self-touring and smart home technology, has announced the release of the Smart Bolt, which is an updated version of their Bluetooth smart lock designed for single-family rentals. The new Smart Bolt features improvements such as longer battery life, a more robust motor, and an installation process that has been made easier.
The device is designed to offer both reliability for residents and a secure access control option for property managers. It can be integrated with Rently’s self-guided touring service. The lock supports various entry methods, including the use of a key, code, Bluetooth, or fob. It also adheres to the ANSI-BHMA (Grade 2) industry security standards and utilizes AES-256 encryption to prevent hacking and unauthorized entry.
Rently’s Chief Technology Officer, Clark Li, emphasized the company’s focus on security in response to customer feedback during the development of the Smart Bolt. The lock’s extended battery life is intended to last through most residential lease periods, and it includes a “jumpstart” feature to prevent lockouts even when the battery is depleted. Property managers have the option to select between a 4-battery version (Flex version) or an 8-battery model (Max version).
The Smart Bolt is designed for ease of deployment, and Rently provides an automated installer workflow and nationwide installation services. The Smart Home Solution from Rently, which now includes the Smart Bolt, allows for integration with property management systems like Yardi and RealPage, offering a unified dashboard for property operations and the ability to remotely manage property access.
