Resideo Technologies has announced the introduction of the Honeywell Home X2S smart thermostat at CES 2025. This new product, available at home improvement retailers in spring, is designed with Matter-enabled technology and holds the ENERGY STAR certification. The Honeywell Home X2S is crafted to be an accessible option for those considering an upgrade to their current thermostats, particularly for users who may find smart home technology daunting. Pat Tessier, Vice President of Product Development for First Alert and Honeywell Home solutions at Resideo, emphasized the thermostat’s affordability and functionality, noting its capacity for energy savings and smart home integration.

The Honeywell Home X2S smart thermostat reportedly enables users to save, on average, 22% on heating and 17% on cooling energy consumption when they follow the recommended scheduling feature. The device is compatible with popular smart home platforms such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Home. Additionally, users can control its settings through Resideo’s First Alert app. The app includes an automatic away mode that optimizes energy savings when users are not at home and offers the opportunity to participate in energy management programs with local utilities.

The thermostat is designed for straightforward installation and use, equipped with Honeywell Home Thermostat Technology. It includes a UWP wall-mounting plate for easy upgrades. The device features a large, bright display, making it user-friendly to set up and program either directly or via the app. The Honeywell Home X2S also monitors indoor air quality by tracking humidity levels and providing reminders for air filter replacement to maintain the efficient operation of heating and cooling systems.
