Kidde, recognized as North America’s leading brand in home fire safety, has announced a collaboration with Ring, a prominent name in smart home security. This partnership introduces a new collection of Smart Smoke and Combination Alarms (Smoke + CO). The integration of Kidde’s fire safety expertise with Ring’s smart home technology aims to enhance safety and convenience for homeowners.

These alarms feature integrated Ring technology, allowing users to monitor and manage their home safety from any location. Users can receive immediate notifications of smoke and carbon monoxide alerts through the Ring app. Additionally, they can opt into a professional monitoring service, which includes emergency dispatch, via the Ring 24/7 Smoke & CO Monitoring subscription. This is a monthly subscription service, and involves trained agents who can request emergency assistance and notify a user’s emergency contacts if an alarm is triggered. This offering comes in response to the increasing severity of home fires, which now burn more intensely and quickly, emphasizing the importance of timely action in emergencies.

The enhanced sensing technology in Kidde’s alarms detects smoke 25% faster and with up to three times more accuracy. This advancement helps minimize false alarms often caused by cooking, which can lead people to disable their alarms, increasing their risk. The alarms also address the issue of low battery alerts by notifying users through the Ring app about a week before the battery is low, helping prevent the disruptive chirping sound.

Kidde’s collaboration with Ring is part of its ongoing mission to provide effective home fire and carbon monoxide safety solutions. The partnership represents an extension of Kidde’s commitment to consumer safety through smart home technology. The alarms will be available for purchase at The Home Depot stores and online from April 2025, with additional retail partners expected to follow later in the year. Interested customers can register on Ring.com to be notified when the products become available.

The new Smart Smoke and Combination Alarms will be introduced at CES 2025, where attendees can view the products before their official release. The alarms will feature exclusive availability through The Home Depot initially.
