The Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2024 will feature the first SmartThings Innovation Challenge, aimed at encouraging the development of new features and drivers for the SmartThings platform. The event will take place on October 3, 2024, at the San Jose Convention Center. Participants in the challenge have the opportunity to gain visibility within Samsung and the SmartThings partner ecosystem, connect with fellow innovators, and potentially secure resources to bring their ideas to life.
The challenge includes two themes: proposing a new feature or enhancement to an existing SmartThings feature, and developing a new driver that enhances user abilities and the overall SmartThings experience. Submissions for the challenge are due by August 30, 2024. The top three finalists from each theme will be invited to present their ideas to a panel of judges at SDC24. Winners will be announced at the SDC24 after party and will receive a Samsung 55” Frame TV.
Participants are encouraged to attend a Pre-SDC24 Webinar on September 12, 2024, to learn if they are finalists. Finalists must be present at SDC24 to present their ideas. Questions about the challenge can be directed to marketing@smartthings.com.
