Anker Innovations Limited has initiated a recall for specific models of its Soundcore Bluetooth speakers due to a fire hazard associated with the lithium-ion battery packs. This recall affects models A3102016, A3302011, and A3302031, which were exclusively sold on Amazon.com in 2023. The recall is limited to the battery packs within these speaker models.

Consumers can check if their speakers are part of the recall by locating the “SN Code” on the underside of the unit. This code can be entered on either https://us.ankerwork.com/pages/a3302-recall or https://us.soundcore.com/pages/a3102-recall. Both Anker and Amazon have reached out to all customers who purchased these products.

If a speaker is identified as part of the recall, consumers are advised to stop using it immediately. The device should be powered off and disconnected from any power sources. Anker provides a service at https://support.anker.com/s/emailcontactus to verify the SN code and submit recall information. A replacement speaker will be provided at no cost.

It is important to dispose of the recalled lithium-ion batteries following local and state regulations to prevent potential hazards. The batteries should not be thrown away or placed in regular recycling bins. Instead, they should be handled according to municipal guidelines for hazardous materials.

The recall follows reports from consumers, with 33 incidents of overheating, including cases of smoking and minor fires. One minor burn injury was reported. The speakers were available for purchase on Amazon.com from March to October 2023, priced between $28 and $130.
