Swann, a company that specializes in do-it-yourself security solutions, has launched a new product named MaxRanger4K. This security camera has received several accolades at the CES 2024 expo, earning awards from various organizations such as TWICE, TechRadar Pro, Residential Systems, and Gear Brain Editor’s Choice.
The MaxRanger4K stands out for its long-range 900MHz wireless technology, which allows it to connect up to 2,000 feet in open air, significantly surpassing the coverage of most 2.4GHz Wi-Fi cameras. The cameras come pre-paired with a hub for quick setup and feature integrated solar panels, eliminating the need for battery recharges.
Swann’s MaxRanger4K system includes two-way audio and TrueDetect+, which can sense heat, motion, people, and cars. These features are designed to trigger mobile alerts, video recording, spotlights, and sirens, with control available via the Swann Security app. The cameras utilize Sony STARVIS sensors to deliver 4K color video both during the day and at night. They are weather-resistant, making them suitable for year-round use in various conditions.
The MaxRanger4K system is particularly well-suited for securing large perimeters, such as those of homes, farms, parking lots, warehouses, and businesses. The hub comes with 64GB of local memory for storage and offers cloud backup. In case of a power outage, the hub is equipped with a battery capable of providing up to five hours of backup power.
Customers have the option to purchase the MaxRanger4K system with different numbers of cameras, and the hub can monitor up to eight cameras. Swann’s CEO, Alex Talevski, has highlighted the product’s innovative features and signal range, suggesting that it represents a significant advancement in security technology.
Alongside the product launch, Swann Security has introduced new company branding, including a new tag line “Security You Can Trust.” This rebranding coincides with leadership changes and celebrates the company’s 40-year history.
