SwitchBot has announced the release of the SwitchBot Lock Pro, a new smart lock that offers compatibility with numerous types of global lock mechanisms. This product is designed to fit with various locks such as Euro Profiles, Knob Cylinders, Night latch locks, and Multi-point Locks, as well as additional types like UK Oval and Swiss Round locks expected to be supported by late April. In the United States, the SwitchBot Lock Pro is compatible with Double Cylinders, Mortise, and Jimmy Proof locks. The company also offers a 3D printing service for after-sales support to increase compatibility options.

The SwitchBot Lock Pro features advanced fingerprint recognition technology, boasting a 0.3-second recognition time and a 98% success rate. Alongside the SwitchBot Keypad Touch, it can store up to 100 fingerprints and offers 15 different unlocking methods. These methods include temporary passcodes, remote unlocking, voice commands, and compatibility with the Apple Watch.

The device utilizes a Quick Key function that allows users to unlock their doors with a single click, and can temporarily pause the auto-locking feature with a 2-second tap. The SwitchBot Lock Pro is powered by 4 x AA batteries, which provides up to 9 months of battery life, purportedly 1.5 times longer than that of its competitors. Additionally, an optional Dual Power Pack is available, which offers a rechargeable power source that can last up to 12 months and features a relay power supply design to ensure continuous operation.

Even when batteries are low, the Lock Pro’s passive power supply feature allows users to unlock their door. The device is also forward-thinking with its support for Matter, a smart home connectivity standard, when paired with the SwitchBot Hub Mini Matter Enabled. This allows the Lock Pro to integrate into existing smart home ecosystems.
