Tuya Smart, a company listed on both the New York Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, held its 2025 Global Developer Summit in Shenzhen on April 23. The focus of this year’s event was the combination of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things, commonly called AIoT. The company stressed how combining these two technologies can change the way smart devices work and communicate. Tuya used the summit as a place to introduce new tools and platforms designed to help developers create better and smarter products.
One of the main announcements was Tuya’s AI Agent Development Platform. This tool is built to help developers make custom intelligent agents, which are like smart digital assistants or helpers. The platform can connect with several large language models, including ones from DeepSeek, OpenAI, Tencent, and others. Developers can use this platform to build agents that handle things like text and image creation, image recognition, data analysis, device management, and more. These agents can be used in many ways, from automating pet feeders to powering fitness avatars. To make things easier for developers, Tuya is now offering free access to its AI Tokens for those using its solutions.
Tuya also introduced Tuya.AI, a set of tools and hardware that help developers make AI-based products faster. This includes ready-to-use edge AI modules, easy-to-use embedded frameworks, cloud-based tools to manage AI models, and integrated systems for deploying new products. With these tools, developers can take an idea and move it to a larger market much more quickly. Tuya.AI is meant to support different settings, so whether someone is building something for a smart home, a factory, or a business, they can use the same platform. With Tuya’s technology, it is possible to add AI features to a device in as little as ten minutes.
Another update from Tuya is the launch of TuyaOpen, an open-source development framework for the AIoT industry. Open source means that anyone can use, change, or share the software without paying for it. TuyaOpen is built to be flexible and secure, supporting different platforms and systems. It also brings in an AI inference engine and connects with Tuya’s cloud services. This makes it easier for developers to design, test, and sell new products. By making its core technology open to others, Tuya hopes more developers will join the AIoT field and bring new ideas to market faster.
For businesses with strong needs for data protection, Tuya rolled out the HEDV edge computing platform. This platform lets companies run smart applications in their own data centers, separate from the cloud if they want. HEDV is made to handle large amounts of data safely and meets tough international security standards. It gives companies more control over their information, letting them set up systems that work best for their needs. This is especially useful for places like smart campuses or energy systems that require both custom features and high levels of security.
Tuya’s new releases at the summit show how the company is trying to support developers and companies as they build smarter devices and systems. By offering new platforms, free access to AI tools, and secure ways to handle data, Tuya is making it easier for people to work with AIoT technology.
